The concept of Hygge that was hugely popular in the UK back in 2018 when the Danish shared the idea with us. In Scandinavia it represents an entire mindset; being excited about the winter, celebrating the cold and dark, and not relying on vitamin D from the summer sun to be positive.
Here at Nether Farm we agree we should all be a ‘little more Scandi’. Make a stay in our Barns your Winter tradition, something to look forward to and make fabulous frosted memories.
Our lovely Barns are easily accessible once you enter the Farm and offer a warm cosy retreat after a day walking amongst the crisp Winter landscape. Original exposed wood beams, the light of the fire and twinkling fairy lights greet you in your Nordic inspired home from home.
There’s nothing quite like a roaring fire…
Each of our Barns has an eco design ready, cast iron wood burner which is made up ready to be lit when you arrive. We regularly sweep the chimneys and clean the fires internally to ensure particulates are removed. This largely reduces any risk to the environment and there’s no concern for guests!
We supply plenty of paper, kindling and logs so you can keep it burning for as long as you desire. All of the wood we provide is sourced from the farm, is free from any contaminates and is well seasoned in our large wood store. As a sustainable business we regularly replant so that the woodland is replenished for future generations.
We even grow our own Christmas Trees, the young trees in pots are used to decorate our Roundhouse verandas for the festive period and then set in the plantation to thrive, ready for pride of place in the house in a few years time.
